Southport Trinity 5
v 1 Capenhurst
Villa..... Alan Locke
put Cape 1-0 up on just 14 mins
with a well worked goal. This proved
to be a false dawn though, as cape
lost their way, conceding five goals
as Trinity ran out easy 5-1
winners. Cape MoM Andy Newland. Capenhurst
Villa Res 1
v 4 Southport Trinity Res
..... This game went the same as
the first team, as Capes, Danny
Higginson scored a well taken goal
on 15 mins to give Cape an early lead.
1-0. Unfortunately we couldn't
convert any more chances, and the
visitors made easy of theirs, scoring
four goals without reply, 1-4.
Cape MoM Steve Pinnington.

Christleton Res 3
v 0 Capenhurst
Villa Res.....A disappointing
result, after a fairly even first
half, where Cape had very few chances
to speak of, with Christleton carving
out a couple of decent efforts. But
the home side made sure they took
maximum points, with three second half
goals, on 57, 80, and 86 mins. 0-3.

Capenhurst
Villa 1
v 0 Grange Athletic
.....This local derby was decided by a
well taken Darrel Freeman
header on 75 mins, which meant Cape
claimed all three points. Grange
though, pushed Cape all the way to the
final whistle, hitting the bar late on
and pulling a decent save out of
Capenhurst keeper Sam Smith. Cape MoM Chris
McNeil

FC Pensby
1 v 1 Capenhurst
Villa .....This game should have
been well wrapped up by half time, as
Villa missed chance after chance, and
eventually went a goal up through Andy
Newland 1-0 H/T. In the second
period, Capenhurst still had most of
the play without creating the chances
they had in the first half, and yes,
the inevitable happened, as Pensby
drew level in the 81st minute and took
an undeserved point. Final Score 1-1.
Cape MoM Chris Pitt.Capenhurst
Villa Res 1
v 1 Manor Athletic .....I
suppose a draw was a fair result,
after another late equaliser robbed us
of 3 points. Cape took the lead in the
29th minute through Matty Lancaster
1-0, and posted a half time lead,
only to let Manor back into the game,
and score an equaliser on 76 mins.
Final Score 1-1. Capenhurst MoM

Blacon Youth
Club Res 1
v 2 Capenhurst
Villa Res .....This was an
entertaining game with two young
sides. Cape missed an early penalty
but were undeterred, and Andy
Newland bagged a half chance on 25
mins to give Cape a deserved lead. 1-0.
Cape kept the upper hand right through
the game, but it wasn't until the 81st
minute, when a Chris Georgeson
effort made it 2-0 to Cape.
Blacon didn't drop their heads though,
and clawed a goal back right on the
final whistle. Final Score 2-1.

Capenhurst
Villa 3
v 5 Bronze Social .....Just
how we lost this one no-one knows.
Cape were 3-0 up after just 12
mins. Goals coming from Andy
Newland on 5 mins, Darrell
Freeman on 7 mins and Shaun
Cassidy on 12 mins. But we allowed
Bronze back into the game, and by half
time it was 3-3. By this time
the visitors had their tails up, and
what seemed like an unlikely result
earlier, made Cape leave the field red
faced. As the visitors scored two more
goals to win the game 3-5. Cape
MoM Shaun Cassidy.Ellesmere
Port Res 4
v 1 Capenhurst Villa
Res .....Another defeat against
local rivals Ellesmere Port, but to be
fair, this scoreline flatters the home
side. Cape went 1-0 up on 17
minutes through Chris Georgeson,
and squandered further chances
to go 3 or 4 goals up. But it wasn't
to be, and the home side took
advantage of their chances and were 3-1
up at half time. They
added another on 57 mins, to make the
final score 4-1. Cape MoM Jordan
Tunstall

v 1 Capenhurst
Villa Res .....This game was
played on a pitch that was a pleasure
to play on, and Cape took full
advantage, playing some slick
football. We were 1-0 up as
early as the 3rd minute, with a well
taken Chris Georgeson goal. and
although the 1-0 scoreline stayed the
same, Cape could easily have ran in 3
or 4 more with a creditable
performance. Capenhurst MoM was Luke
Eccles after a tireless display.

Capenhurst Villa 0
v 1 Chester Nomads .....
A young Cape side were unfortunately
undone by a strong Nomads side, who's
early goal on 24 mins, was enough to
secure three points. Cape were unable
to breach the visitors defence, apart
from a couple of half chances, and
drew a blank. Cape MoM Matty Hall

New
Brighton 0 v
0 Capenhurst Villa .....
A decent performance despite drawing
another blank. Cape gave a good
account of themselves, against title
hopefuls New Brighton, and we were
unfortunately undone, by a fine
penalty save from the home keeper.
Capenhursts Alan Locke claimed
the MoM with a typical workmanlike
performance.
Capenhurst Villa Res
2
v 2 Mersey Royal .....
An entertaining game and the spoils
were shared, as Cape came from behind
twice to claim a point. The visitors
went ahead on 20 mins, and the went in
a goal up at half-time 0-1. The
second half saw Capenhurst with a bit
more purpose, and on 55mins Mike
Fawson levelled 1-1. This
shook the Royal into life, and they
went ahead again just 10 mins later 1-2.
But it was left to in form striker, Chris
Georgeson, to even the game up,
with a well taken equaliser on 84 mins
2-2. Cape MoM Mike Fawson.

Bebington Athletic 2 v
1 Capenhurst Villa .....
Another disappointing defeat as cape
went 0-1 down with just 10 mins
on the clock. Cape levelled right on
half-time through Darrell Freeman, after
some good work from Andy Newland, 1-1.
Unfortunately, Villa had numerous
chances in the game to go in front,
but just as it looked like the game
was ending a draw, the home side
produced a winner in injury time. 1-2.

Capenhurst Villa
1
v 2 Castrol Social
..... A close encounter, in which local
rivals Castrol Social just about came
out on top, and went through to the
next round. After an early scare, when
the visitors rattled the bar with a
screamer of a shot, Cape settled down,
and took a 1-0 lead on 35 mins.
A neat header from Shaun Cassidy
supplied by Alan Locke. Unfortunately
Cape showed their defensive frailties
once again, and allowed Castrol in for
the equaliser, in first half injury
time 1-1. After the half time
interval, it was a more or less even
game, but Castrol popped up with the
all important winner on 78 mins, after
decent work from ex Cape man, Jordan
Brierley. Best of luck to Social in
the next round.

Richmond
Raith Rovers 4 v 1 Capenhurst
Villa Res ..... Cape were undone
by a mad second half 15 minutes. The
score at half time was even at 0-0,
and could have gone either way. But
within 15 minutes of the re-start,
Villa were 0-3 down, and looking a
shadow of the team which started the
game. The home side added another on
73 mins, to go 4-0 up, before Capes Mike
Fawson, scored a consolation goal
on 85mins 1-4. Capenhurst MoM John
Lyth.

Capenhurst
Villa 1 v 0
Maghull Res ..... Cape came up
trumps, in yet another close
encounter, against a decent Maghull
side. An Andy Newland goal on
21 minutes, was enough to settle the
game 1-0 in capes favour, but
Maghull had their fair share of the
play, and could feel unlucky not to
have gained at least a point. Cape MoM
with a sterling performance was Craig
Hacking.
Hale 4 v
2 Capenhurst
Villa Res ..... Cape were once
again undone
by a mad second half performance. We
took a 2-0 lead by half time,
but managed to capitulate once more,
to a 2-4 defeat. Goals from
Cape Top scorer, Chris Georgeson
and Chris McNeil, gave Cape a
2-0 half-time lead. Unfortunately we
couldn't hold on to the advantage, and
Hale found their shooting boots, to
rifle in 4 second half goals and claim
all three points. MoM Justin
McNally.

Capenhurst
Villa 1
v 4 West Kirby Res .....Well
this looks like a proper toasting, but
we did in fact make enough chances to
get something from this game.
Unfortunately The visitors took
virtually every chance they were
offered, when Cape squandered more
than enough of theirs. Andy Newland
scored the consolation goal on 34 mins,
when we were actually 0-3 down after
just 20 mins. Giving ourselves too big
a mountain to climb. Cape
MoM Jamie Johnson.
St
Werburghs 3
v 5 Capenhurst Villa
Res .....A great win and a
welcome 3 points, from our visit to
the Cestrians. A Luke Eccles
double, and solitary strikes, from
leading goalgetter Chris Georgeson,
Matty Lancaster, and Cape
newcomer Mike Simmonds, meant
we took the spoils in an entertaining
match at the Kings High school ground.
Capenhurst Mom was Dave Jones
after a fine goalkeeping display.

Capenhurst
Villa 1
v 2 Marshalls .....
After a steady start, Cape went a goal
down on 24 mins, after the referee
wrongly awarded a corner to the
visitors, which they capitalised on 0-1.
With just a minute to go before half
time, Marshalls scored again from the
edge of the box 0-2 half time.
We started the second half on the
front foot and defender Andy Jobber
got on the end of a Capenhurst corner
to reduce arrears 1-2.
Unfortunately we hufed and puffed a
little from then on, and couldn't find
an equaliser. Cape
MoM Lee Hammond.
Ashville
Res 5
v 0 Capenhurst Villa
Res .....A game in which we were
always in with a chance despite the
5-0 scoreline. Admittedly it looks
like a drubbing, but apart from some
sloppy mistakes, cape gave a real good
account of themselves, against the
title contenders. We just need to get
our heads up for next week.

Capenhurst
Villa 3
v 0 Bronze Social .....
Cape could have been 2-0 up after just
3 mins, missing two glorious early
chances. It did in fact take us until
the 35th minute to register an
advantage, when Lee Hammond
tapped in. 1-0 half time. In
the second half cape settled the
quicker, and Andy Jobber
powered home a great header for the
second week running, to make it 2-0.
Villa were knocking the ball around
nicely now, and Andy Newland
settled the match with a well taken
3rd on 85 mins 3-0. Cape Mom after a
solid performance was defender Andy Jobber.
Southport
Trinity Res 3
v 0 Capenhurst Villa
Res .....A fruitless trip across
the water, for the Ressies. We did put
a lot of effort into the performance,
but Trinity just proved too strong,
for a youthful looking Cape side. Cape
MoM was striker Chris Georgeson.

Capenhurst
Villa 1
v 3 Stockport Georgians .....
Cape looked to have started the
better, in this Cheshire Amateur Cup
game. And it was Andy Newland
who put Cape 1-0 to the good
after just 8 mins, With a superbly
taken free Kick. But after a defensive
slip, the visitors were back in the
game on 24 mins, with a soft goal 1-1.
Georgians gained the advantage in the
44th min, with a second goal. 1-2 half time. This
put Villa on the back foot and we
couldn't really break the visitors
down. And they went on to grab a 3rd
goal on 78 mins, to seal a 3-1
victory.
Runcorn
Town Res 3 v 0 Capenhurst Villa
Res ..... Another fruitless trip,
this time to a resurgent Runcorn Town
Reserves. The home side were in third
place before this game, and the
difference was noticable. Three goals
without reply, were enough for the
promotion hopefuls to take all three
points. With Cape new boy, Dave
Greenaway putting up most
resistance, taking the MoM.

Cape Were easily overwhelmed in this
game, and in the 5-1 loss, Capes
performance was that poor that the
management refused to comment. It was Andy Newland
who scored our solitary goal, with Matty
Hall claiming the MoM award.
Capenhurst Villa
Res 3 v 5 Prescot
Cables Res..... A wrong result but
what a cracking game, with both teams
playing attractive football. The
visitors went 3-0 up after just
25 mins, but cape didn't allow their
heads to drop, and a cracking goal
from Capes Luke Eccles on 36
mins, and a Justin McNally
strike on 43 mins, meant we went in at
half-time just 2-3 down. The
second half was end to end, but it was
Prescot who increased their lead on 65
mins 2-4, but Ryan James
scored his first goal for the club, on
82 mins 3-4. Unfortunately just
2 mins later, a defensive mix-up,
allowed the visitors in again, to seal
the win 3-5. But Cape left the
field with heads held high, after what
was a cracking game. Cape MoM John

Villa .....
Cape Were once again on the wrong end
of a five goal salvo, but despite the
scoreline, Cape did give a decent
account of themselves. Performance

from this game. Capenhurst Mom Jamie

Capenhurst Villa

Port Res..... A decent local derby
game, and cape were unlucky not to
have salvaged at least a point from
this game. We went 0-1 down on

disallowed on 70 mins, which would
have given Villa a deserved point, but
sadly it wasn't to be. Cape MoM Mike

Res 2 v 0 Capenhurst
Villa .....
Cape played a more positive game than
recent, in the first half, and could
have gone in at half time 2 goals up,
but we couldn't convert the chances,
so it was 0-0 at half time.
Unfortunately for some reason we
didn't show up in the second half, and
2 late goals from the home side were
enough to take the points. Cape MoM
was the industrious Alan Locke.
Capenhurst Villa
Res 2 v 2 Ellesmere
Port Res..... Two great goals, but
also two moments of poor defending
cost Cape all three points here. A
superb overhead kick from Capes Dave
Greenaway, gave Villa a 26th
minute lead 1-0. But against
the run of play upton levelled on 36
mins, half-time 1-1. Cape
regained the lead on 51 mins, through
a neatly taken Chris Georgeson
goal. 2-1. only for us to fall
asleep and conced another goal just
one minute later 2-2. the
scores remained the same till the
final whistle and Chris McNeil
claimed the Cape MoM award after a
dazzling display.

Well everything seemed to be going
swimmingly until the 80th minute.
After a even first half with scores
level at 0-0, Andy Newland
gave cape a 1-0 advantage on
the hour, after good work from Lee
Hammond. But some slack defending let
in the visitors on 80 mins 1-1,
and now with their tails up they were
pushing for a winner. Which they
eventually got, with the last kick of
the game 1-2. Cape MoM was
goalkeeper Sam Smith.

win at a canter really. Capes Chris

ran out comfortable winners. MoM was

pulled a goal back on 50 mins, only
for Christleton to score on 55 and 57

goals were added, to make it a dismal

Nomads 3 v 2 Capenhurst
Villa .....
Cape got off to a flyer in this game,
with two early goals. Villa were 2-0
up inside 20 mins. Ryan Nicol,
back in the Capenhurst fold, scored
the first, with fit again Jamie
Johnson, rifling in the second.
Unfortunately, after a cracking first
half for Cape, the referee awarded the
hosts, what can be best described as,
a Dubious penalty, right on half time.
Which Nomads converted. Half time 2-1.
That was as good as it got and Nomads
scored two more in a hectic
second half, to take the points 3-2.
Although we lost the game, this was a
much improved performance. Villa
newcomer, goalkeeper Kieran
Burnett, claimed the MoM award,
after a superb debut, with some
cracking saves, which included a fine
penalty stop.

Villa 0 v 3 Mossley
Hill Ath ..... Cape were hosts to
high flyers, Mossley Hill Athletic.
The visitors were sitting in second
place in the league, so we envisaged a
tough encounter. We went a goal down
on 21 minutes, but were more than
equal, in a fairly even first half 0-1.
Villa came out with renewed confidence
in the second period, and were on top
in the first 10 minutes when we were
awarded a penalty. Unfortunately this
was a turning point in the game, as
the penalty chance was missed. Even
worse, Mossley went straight up the
other end and scored a second goal 0-2
on 60 mins. Cape tried their best to
get back into the game, but to no
avail. The visitors scored a 3rd on 87
mins to seal the win, but they were
complimentary about our performance,
and we look forward to next week. MoM
with another fine display was
goalkeeper Kieran Burnett.

troubling the Visitors rearguard.
Ashville added a third on the hour to

for their 1-0 lead at half time.
Unfortunately after 70 mins we found
ourselves 1-2 down, but we were
awarded a penalty on 78 mins, and the
Penalty curse struck again, as the
Heswall keeper made a marvellous save,
from a well struck spot kick. We were
then refused 2 more penalty shouts,
and a goal, when the ball crossed the
line by a yard. The only one who
didn't see it, was the all important
referee. Andy Jobber claimed

Villa 1
v 4 New Brighton .....
Cape looked to have started decently,
but went a goal down on 12 mins 0-1.
Capes Ryan Nicol levelled for
Cape on 21 mins, with a smartly taken
goal, 1-1. The visitors took
the lead yet again on 28 mins, and
added a third on 40 mins, half-time 1-3.
The second half saw a much improved
performance from Villa, but the
seasiders proved too strong
defensively, and look a good bet for
promotion. They added a fourth goal in
the dying minutes, to coast home 4-1
victors. Cape MoM was Matty Hall
after a tireless midfield performance.
Manor
Athletic 3 v 2 Capenhurst Villa
Res ..... Another fruitless trip,
this time to Manor Athletic. But to be
honest, we shouldn't have lost this
one. Villa were 2-0 up after 30
mins, through a Mark Hughes
penalty, and a Chris Georgeson
strike. But in the second half we
capitulated, and Manor clawed back
level 2-2. Coming up with a winner
just 5 mins from time, 2-3. Yet
another penalty miss, and a second
half disallowed goal, didn't aid our
cause though. Cape MoM Chris
Georgeson.

Cape came back empty handed again. We
would have been looking for some kind

5-1 thrashing. Cris McNeil
scored Capes solitary goal, and Cape MoM was Villas
Duncan Tolen after a strong
midfield performance.
Capenhurst Villa
Res 1 v 4 Hale....
Well the result doesn't give a fair
reflection of the game, as the rezzies
gave a half decent account of
themselves, against high flying Hale.
Who to be fair played some decent
football. Chris Georgeson put
Cape 1-0 up on 21 mins, from a
smart Danny Higginson cross.
Unfortunately this woke the visiting
team up, and they fired in 2 quick
goals, to take a 2-1 half-time lead.
Cape tried to match Hale, who proved
to be just a little too strong, and
they added a couple more before the
final whistle to win 4-1. Capes Danny
Higginson took the MoM with a

It was a long time coming, but Cape

but Capes evergreen stopper, Justin
Mcnally popped up in the Pensby
box, to fire home the equaliser on 34
mins, 1-1. Capes Ryan Nicol
put Villa into the lead on 43 mins,
with a well taken goal 2-1,
half time. Cape were bit slow out of
the blocks, and Pensby claimed an
equaliser on 68 mins, 2-2.
Capenhurst never let their heads drop
though, and were well on top, when
promising young centre-back John
Smith, rose at the far post, to head
home the winner on 79 mins, 3-2. A well
deserved win, and three vital points.
MoM went to Capes Lee Hammond

and we could have easily scored a few
more but at half time it was 1-0.
Villa were looking to increase the
advantage, and Jamie Johnson
scored our second goal on 70 mins 2-0.
Unfortunately we fell asleep for 5
mins and let Bebington in with a 73rd
minute goal 2-1, to make it a
nervous end to the game, but we held
out firmly, to take all three points. MoM went to Capes
Jamie Johnson.

great win, and our third on the spin,
against a good Ashville side. Cape started
well, creating a few early openings,
and Jamie Johnson fired us into
a 1-0 lead on 32 mins. Half
time 1-0. Ashville came out a
different team, after a half time
rollicking, and the visitors equalised
from the penalty spot, just 6 mins
into the second half. 1-1. But
on one of our rare break aways in the
second half, Capes Lee Hammond
slotted home a neatly taken goal on 62
mins, 2-1, after good work from
Jamie Johnson and Ryan Nicol. Well
from then on it was all Ashville, they
pressured cape right to the final
whistle, and could, and maybe should
have taken at least a point from the
game. But Capes well marshalled
defence held firm, to take all 3
points. Phew !! Capes Ryan Nicol
claimed the MoM award with another
fine performance.

They then took the lead just 4 mins
later, with an equally dubious goal 1-2.
Half-time. The visitors
took control of matters in the second
half, showing why they are top of the
league, and they effectively ended the
contest within the first 20 mins,
rattling in 3 goals in this spell, to
make the final scoreline 1-5.

2 v 3
Capenhurst Villa..... What a

good tussle. Jamie Johnson put
Villa 1-0 up in the 12th minute

throw-in caused confusion in the Cape
box 1-1. Capes Duncan Tolen,
then scored possibly the best goal of
the game on 39 mins, when he headed
home a superb Lewis Walters cross. 2-1
half time. In the second half Cape
carried on pushing for a third, and
were rewarded in the 60th minute, when
Jamie Johnson was tripped in the
Grange box, and Matty Hall
smashed home the penalty 3-1.
Grange rallied once more though,
scoring a 2nd on 78 mins to make it 3-2
